Saying ‘Om’ at the MO: Saturday Yoga at the Mandarin Oriental Atlanta
Easy. That’s the best way to describe my recent experience taking the Saturday morning yoga class at the Spa at the Mandarin Oriental Atlanta.
Part of why it was so easy was because I was a guest in the hotel the evening before. (FYI, my visit to the hotel was hosted. So, stay tuned for an upcoming article on a wellness retreat that I attended at the MOA!) All I had to do was slip on some shoes and head down to the yoga room in the fitness center. It made for a pretty relaxing Saturday morning, y'all.
The weekly 11 a.m. Saturday class is open to both hotel guests and folks from the community, and is taught by the awesome Elizabeth Rowan. When I arrived, Elizabeth welcomed me and made me feel at home among her regulars. I was one of about five women in the class, and folks ranged in experience level from beginner to more advanced. (BTW, The class costs $20 per person and includes access to the fitness center.)
For 75 minutes, Elizabeth took us through a Vinyasa flow yoga class that included a variety of poses. I really appreciated how she would provide modifications for people who needed them, helped us with form, and would push us to go deeper into poses (if we were comfortable). Honestly, I think she was one of the best yoga instructors I’ve worked with.
With that said, I would absolutely return to this “fit” of a yoga class. Thanks for bringing a little peace to my Saturday, Elizabeth!
