Overseas Spa Splurge: A Visit to the Four Seasons Prague

A heated massage table with buttery soft sheets and a private view of the Vltava River and Prague Castle. Looking around my treatment room at the Four Seasons Hotel Prague’s AVA Spa, I felt like I’d died and gone to spa heaven.

I was recently on assignment in Prague for one of the lifestyle outlet’s I work with here in Atlanta and had the pleasure of visiting the spa for a treatment. (So, FYI, my experience was complimentary.) In recent years, the space underwent renovations, so I have to say that I was pretty psyched to experience it.

The morning I arrived for my treatment was bright and sunny, which was perfect given the amount of natural light that flows into the spa area via tons of windows overlooking the river. After filling out my paperwork, I was escorted to the ladies changing area, which was cozy and decorated in crisp whites.

I donned my spa uniform (that is, robe and slippers) and returned to the relaxation area where I’d completed my paperwork to wait for my therapist. From there, the therapist and I went into one of the most lovely treatment rooms I’ve experienced for a massage, thanks to the natural light and view I’ve already mentioned.

As the therapist left, she hit a switch that triggered the automatic window shade to come down (so, no worries — you will enjoy a dimly lit environment as you relax throughout your treatment). After shedding my uniform, I snuggled into the sheets on the massage table and waited for the fun to begin.

I’d signed up for the La Boheme massage, which was like music to my muscles. It was 50 minutes of head-to-toe massage that incorporated linden blossom oils (inspired by the Czech national tree). According to the spa, the oil can help decrease cold symptoms and encourage healthy sleep.

The level of pressure used by my therapist was just right, as was the peaceful music playing in the background. It was the perfect thing to do the day after an international flight!

Post-treatment, I had time to enjoy the beautiful vitality pool, steam room, and sauna, which only enhanced my experience. Lastly, I cleaned up for lunch in the changing room, which is equipped with a wonderful rainforest shower and all of the toiletries I needed to get dolled up and proceed with my day in Prague.

Until next time, follow my adventures on Instagram and Pinterest — and here’s to a FWABulous day, friends!
