A 'Secret' Hiking Spot in the City

A bamboo forest. Sweeping view of the Chattahoochee River. And a kick ass workout. That's just a taste of what you'll experience when you check out the East Palisades Trail in Atlanta

I never would have known this spot existed if it weren't for my friend, Alex. (Who, by the way is also an amazing dog trainer based in Buckhead — http://avdogtraining.com.) He tends to know about all of the amazing outdoor spots in Atlanta, because Alex also happens to be a weekend warrior obstacle course racer.

So, on a recent Sunday, we headed out around 10 a.m. for a trail/run hike on the 3.4 mile trail that is along the Chattahoochee. Needless to say, I got an amazing workout — and got to laze around in the river for a bit (so bring a bathing suit). It was the perfect way to start a Sunday. Thanks, Alex, for introducing me to this semi-secret hiking "fit!"

Keep up with my FWABulous adventures on FacebookTwitter, and Instagram.
